Green Canopy prides itself on creating aesthetic and functional landscapes. We don’t subscribe to a particular ‘style’ but work in direct response to the site and the client’s brief and budget while maintaining an understanding of the practical elements such as aspect, space and maintenance.
‘We are very lucky in our Sub tropical climate with the diversity of plants we have to choose from. I am passionate about my job and love working with my clients to provide a garden that will bring many years of pleasure while adding considerably to the value of their property.’
Each client and garden is unique so we offer a custom made / cut and paste design and construction options to suit each individual clients needs and budget
Gardens need to be practical and functional. The incorporation of decks, pools, vegetable gardens, spaces for children, spaces for animals, cloths lines, sheds, bins, water tanks all need to be considered in the overall functionality and aesthetics of the design.
As a horticulturalist Sidonie’s designs have a strong focus on the selection and use of plants to create the structure and atmosphere in a garden.
Initial stage of engagement – a site visit to discuss and establish a client brief and to understand the scope of work, discussion of broad concept ideas. Following this initial meeting, we will will submit a fee proposal outlining the landscape design process, time frames and associated costs. A fee is charged for this initial consultation.
Upon appointment, the next step is to undertake a thorough site analysis. You may have existing architectural or survey drawings that can assist with this stage. Large or very steep sites may require a land survey to be undertaken by a qualified land surveyor. A landscape concept plan is produced and discussed.
Once the concept design has been finalised and approved a detailed plan is produced using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software. These drawings document the proposed garden and include: a planting schedule, material schedule, garden lighting schedule.
At this stage we provide a price guide for construction. Sidonie works exclusively with Simon Squire from Landscape Logic. They have been working together for over 10 years. During construction Sidonie works very closely with Simon and his team to ensure a high quality project. Or alternatively, you are welcome to utilize your own contractors. If required, the design can be adjusted at this time to further suit your budgetary requirements
Sidonie is available to oversee the construction of your garden. This is highly recommended during the critical phases of the construction works process, ensuring the integrity and quality of the design is executed.
Not sure what to plant where? Don’t need a full Landscape Design but just some help in selecting the right plants for a specific area or look you want to achieve. Sidonie will make a site visit (usually 1hr ) to discuss your problems, needs and options. You get a list of appropriate plant species and a planting and maintenance regime. Please call Sidonie on 0418 867123 to book in a site visit.
Gardens are dynamic and constantly changing; if the correct maintenance regime is not followed the design intent may never be achieved. Appropriate maintenance ensures your gardens longevity and vitality. Green Canopy Design offers a professional garden maintenance service run by our in-house team of trained horticulturists. You can choose what services you require with weekly, fortnightly, monthly or even seasonal visits. Please call Sidonie on 0418 867123 to arrange a site inspection and regime.
